TRESPASSING, VANDALISM LANDS TRIO IN JAIL

Monday evening, Cumberland County deputies responded to a report of three unwanted women on the 300 block of Sawmill Road. The homeowner arrived home to find an unfamiliar vehicle in her driveway. She honked her horn and two women approached her vehicle from the rear of the residence, and another ran toward the woods at the back of the property. One of the woman approaching her car began yelling for her to move so they could get their car out. She refused to leave until law enforcement arrived.

Deputies noticed a broken window on the back door; the owner said the window was intact when she left for work that morning. She further said she neither knew nor recognized the three women, identified as 54-year-old Michelle Margaret Hedgecoth, 43-year-old Shannon Corbett Bradshaw and 22-year-old Jayde Mikel Wainwright, all of Crossville.

Wainwright had in her front pocket a used syringe that field tested positive for meth.

All three women’s individual stories were conflicting as to why they were there. Hedgecoth said Wainwright was the one who broke the window, which the homeowner said had just been replaced in November at a cost of about $1,000.

Wainwright was charged with vandalism, criminal trespassing and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held on $2,500 bond. Hedgecoth and Bradshaw were charged with criminal trespassing and released on $1,000 bond each. All three are due in court March 4.

All three women were taken to the justice center for booking and banned from the residence.

The homeowner subsequently contacted deputies to report two additional windows broken on the rear of the house, beside the back door
