A trial for a woman charged in the death of her infant son is tentatively set to start soon in Roane County. Court officials say Amanda Dotson’s trial is set to get underway January 16, 2018. Amanda Dotson, as well as Matthew Dotson, faces murder and aggravated child abuse charges in the case. The two were indicted for the May 3, 2012 death of two-year-old Clifford Dotson. Officers say the child was starved to death. The child weighed only 12 pounds at the time he passed away. The case has been delayed several times in court over the past five years. A trial date for Matthew Dotson is tentatively set for May 14, 2018.
