A trial date has been set in criminal court for a former Cumberland County Solid Waste director.

Mike Harvel was indicted by a Cumberland County grand jury on two counts of sexual battery and one count each of assault and official misconduct. Court papers indicate Harvel allegedly caused physical contact to a female resulting in the assault charge. The sexual battery charges stem from two supposed incidents involving a female, one reportedly between early August 2017 and October 2017 and the other between early January 2018 and February 21, 2018. The final charge of official misconduct comes from an alleged incident between early June 2016 and February 21, 2018. At his arraignment, Harvel entered a plea of not guilty.

The trial for Harvel is tentatively scheduled to start June 8, 2020.
