A heart-breaking story continues to be dragged out in Roane County. The trial of the man accused of starving his 2-year-old son has been postponed again. Mathew Dotson and his wife Amanda are charged with the murder of their son Clifford in May of 2012. Clifford was said to have weighed only 12 pounds when his parents brought him in to the emergency room. The child was so small he was brought in in a car seat. Now the question has arisen, did the child have a genetic disorder? A motion for a continuance made by Mathew Dotson’s defense attorneys was granted by a judge last week. The trial was originally scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 28. A date for a new trial has not been scheduled.
