A vehicle accident this afternoon at the 299 mile marker westbound on I-40 near Monterey slowed traffic down.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol states a 2019 Jeep Cherokee driven by 45-year-old Bree Long of California lost control, turned sideways and overturned. The Jeep came to a final rest in the median facing east.

Troopers say Long was restrained at the time of the crash.

Officers stated Long escaped injury in the accident.
