TRUMP SPEAKS TO FARM BUREAU IN NASHVILLE

President Donald Trump was in Nashville this afternoon to speak at the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual convention at the Opryland Hotel. It was the first time in 25 years that a president has addressed the American Farm Bureau, although the sitting president is invited every year. Trump took to the stage and walked out with Lee Greenwood’s hit song “God Bless the USA” playing. The White House says a central point in the report to the president on rural communities will be the importance of connectivity. The report calls for expediting federal permitting to allow for broadband internet expansion in rural areas and for making it easier for providers to place cell towers on federal lands. Trump highlighted how the tax overhaul will help farmers and small businesses. After his speech in Nashville, the president left for Atlanta to attend the Alabama-Georgia college national championship game tonight.
