TVA RECORDS NEAR RECORD PEAK POWER CONSUMPTION WEDNESDAY MORNING

Tennessee Valley Officials say that peak power demand rose to a near-record high Wednesday morning. With the average temperature of 24 degrees, TVA turned out 26,714 megawatts of power. The measurement was just shy of the record set in 2008. This was only the third time that the area demands were above 26,000 megawatts in November in 10 years. The TVA is asking customers to conserve power throughout the colder months by turning thermostats to 68 degrees.
