TWO ARRESTED AFTER PHYSICAL DOMESTIC SITUATION IN ROANE COUNTY
Several Roane County deputies were dispatched to a College Grove Road address just after 7 last night for an active physical domestic situation involving several individuals and a firearm. At the scene, deputies encountered 26-year-old Garrett Gielissen, 24-year-old John David Miller, four other adults and three juveniles.
One woman said she was in the sunroom with her son when Miller arrived, asking to see Gielissen or his wife. She reportedly told him both were there but neither wanted to speak with him. She said at that point she returned to the sunroom, adding Miller had previously made threats toward people in the home. According to the police report, the woman heard screaming and observed Gielissen pointing a gun at Miller. Both parties began to fight, at which point the woman said she called 911. When the gun was put down, she took it and put it into a bathroom. Deputies arrested Gielissen on two counts of aggravated assault and Miller on simple possession or casual exchange and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
