TWO ARRESTED FOLLOWING DANGEROUS HIGH-SPEED CHASE

A Roane County couple is facing numerous charges following a high-speed chase with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. According to the arrest report, a trooper clocked a red 1993 Ford Ranger driven by 30-year-old Timothy Daniel Stevens of Harriman traveling at 110 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone weaving in and out of traffic and running red lights. During the pursuit, the trooper learned that the vehicle was stolen out of Rhea County. The vehicle pursuit ended on Bluff Road when Stevens lost control of the truck and rolled it. Stevens then fled on foot leaving a female passenger injured in the truck. The trooper pursued Stevens on foot resulting in Stevens getting into a physical altercation with the officer and reportedly tried to grab the troopers firearm in the scuffle. Stevens was quickly subdued and arrested. Officers say Stevens was under the influence of meth at the time of the incident. Troopers reportedly found 7 grams of meth, digital scales, and syringes. Stevens was charged with a host of violations including vehicular assault, theft of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, manufacture, sale and delivery of meth, assault of a law enforcement officer, and driving under the influence of meth. The passenger in the truck, 30-year-old Ashley Nicole Ferguson Futrell of Harriman was transported to Roane Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Upon her release from the hospital, Futrell was charged with manufacture, sale and delivery of drugs, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Futrell also was charged with public intoxication after she reportedly used a syringe to inject herself with meth and heroin prior to the trooper retrieving it as evidence.
