Two individuals charged with homicide in seperate cases appeared in Cumberland County Criminal Court last Friday, May 19.

Authorities say 31-year-old Samantha Denise Farley of White County is charged with criminal negligent homicide. According to an indictment from a grand jury, Farley was in a Crossville cellphone business and left children in her vehicle. One child managed to get her purse left in the vehicle containing a loaded firearm. The gun discharged striking the 7-year-old child who was airlifted to U.T. Medical Center where the child passed away.

Also in court Friday charged with reckless homicide was 26-year-old Michael Quinn Dale. Officers say Dale discharged a shotgun at an Old Mail Road home. The projectiles from the shotgun blast traveling through a wall and struck 21-year-old Kelsey Nicole Brady in the head. Brady passed away from injuries sustained.

In court Friday, the judge set review court dates for Farley and Dale for July 10th, 2017.
