TWO DEAD IN HIGHWAY 27 / MORGAN COUNTY HIGHWAY CRASH
Two people were killed Thursday afternoon following a collision between a motorcycle and a car north of Harriman at the intersection of Highway 27 and Coal Hill Road. The accident occurred shortly after 5:00 p.m. when, according to early reports, the motorcycle was unable to avoid a car that had pulled out from Coal Hill Road. The crash claimed the lives of both individuals on the motorcycle, identified as a man and a woman.
The driver of the car, also identified as female, was transported to a local hospital for observation. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident. Highway 27 remained closed for nearly two hours while authorities processed the scene, eventually reopening to traffic around 6:45 p.m.
