TWO DEAD IN ROANE COUNTY IN SINGLE CAR CRASH ON HIGHWAY 61 TUESDAY NIGHT

2 people died Tuesday as a result of a single car crash on Hwy 61 ( Harriman Hwy )  near The Mt Pisgah Baptist Church. The wreck happened just before 6pm  near the intersection of Old Hen Valley Road.  A Ford Focus  heading  eastbound ran off the roadway, went down a steep embankment, flipped on its top and caught fire .  Hwy 61 was shut down for about 4 hours  for the investigation, removal of the  persons from the crash and then gettting the car loaded . Agencies who were on the scene  included The  Roane Rescue Squad , Blair Fire Dept, Roane County Sheriffs deputies  and the THP.  Identities of the deceased have not been released yet.
