TWO FLOWN TO TRAUMA CENTER AFTER HEAD ON VEHICLE CRASH
The Tennessee Highway Patrol released a report this morning regarding a head on crash on Highway 68 in Cumberland County yesterday. A 2018 Freightliner operated by 45-year-old Ralph Mulneix of Missouri was traveling south on the highway near Little Cove Road when he entered the northbound lane to get around a downed tree blocking a portion of the road. Mulneix was then hit by an oncoming 1994 Mack dump truck driven by 81-year-old Harold Newby of Crossville. Two air medical helicopters were called to take the drivers to an area trauma center for treatment of injuries sustained. Highway 68 was closed for over five hours yesterday as the accident was investigated and the wreckage later cleared.
