Authorities in Cumberland County went to a gas station on Peavine Road this week for a wanted subject inside a vehicle. Deputies located 29-year-old Jessica Leigh Adkins of Fentress County and took her into custody on outstanding warrants. A search of her reportedly revealed bags of meth and one bag of pills. While Adkins was being arrested, the driver of the vehicle, 39-year-old Travis John Stowers of Fentress County, ran into the store’s bathroom then back out. Officers allegedly found drugs that Stowers hid in the bathroom as well as meth on him. Stowers was charged with numerous drug offenses and initially placed under a total of $46,000 bond. Adkins was arrested on three drug charges and she was placed under a total of $28,000 bond.
