TWO KILLED IN VEHICLE VERSUS TRAIN COLLISION IN LOUDON COUNTY

Two individuals lost their lives after a train struck the vehicle they were in on Spring Street in Loudon County yesterday. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 71-year-old Cleo Emerson and 70-year-old Robert Emerson, both of Philadelphia, Tennessee died in the crash. Cleo drove a 2000 Chevrolet Trailblazer across the railroad tracks while the warning lights were engaged with audible sounds. The SUV was impacted on the driver’s side and overturned then impacted a shed on private property coming to rest on the right side of the tracks. No citations or criminal charges have been issued and an alcohol/drug test has been requested.
