TWO ROUNDS OF SEVERE WEATHER LIKELY EASTER DAY FOR COVERAGE AREA
(This is an update to the severe weather story featured yesterday)
The National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms with damaging winds of 60-75 m.p.h., large hail and a few tornadoes can be expected this afternoon (Easter, April 12, 2020) and evening across Middle Tennessee and the Upper Cumberland area. Also, heavy rainfall with localized flash flooding may occur especially across southern and eastern Middle Tennessee.
The severe weather event will happen in two rounds today. The first is expected to take place in the mid to late afternoon hours in the coverage area and the second is expected between 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. with the actual front passing through the area.
