TWO SHOPLIFTERS ARRESTED AT WALMART
On Wednesday, Crossville police units were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft. Officer Jackie Grant arrived on the scene and made contact with a representative from Walmart Loss Prevention who said there were two females in the back office for shoplifting.
Officer Grant made contact with the women, identified as Jessica Vitatoe and Korena Martin. The loss prevention representative advised both girls had concealed items on their person and inside a black backpack, continuing to pass All points of sale in the grocery store side of the store.
A total of 49 items were removed from them totaling $346.57.
Officer Grant spoke with the two and Vitatoe said she needed underwear and socks and didn’t have the money so she concealed the items. She did make a food purchase with her government-issued EBT card before exiting the store. Martin stated she didn’t know why she decided to conceal items, however admitted to doing it.
Warrants were written for shoplifting on both females and they were placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office without incident.
