TWO STATE OF THE ART FIRE TRUCKS UNVEILED IN CROSSVILLE

This afternoon, city officials and firefighters were on hand for the official unveiling of the Crossville Fire Departments two brand new vehicles, a ladder truck and the other classified as a engine truck.

The older ladder truck the Crossville Fire Department uses has a maximum reach of 75 foot. The new truck provides a maximum ladder expansion to 107 foot.

The Insurance Service Office or ISO rating could be affected in a positive way by the addition of the new ladder and pumper trucks to Crossville. The ISO is an organization that provides statistical information on fire risk. For many years the ISO rating had a large impact on most fire departments. The ISO rating scale is from 1 to 10 with 1 being the best. Almost all home insurance companies calculated rates based upon the ISO rating. Crossville’s current ISO rating is a 3. The lower the rating, the better the payments for fire insurance.
