Just before 8:30 Saturday evening, Roane County deputies responded to the boat ramp on Caney Creek Road in regard to a request for an officer.

They found 18-year-old Shianne Louhea Burnett, who said she and her boyfriend, 18-year-old Nathan Ray Shope, had been drinking at his mother’s house and got into an argument. She said Shope told her she had to walk home.

When Burnett left, Shope and his mother drove along behind her. Burnett said she and Shope’s mother got into a brief physical altercation; the mother drove off, leaving Burnett and Shope at the side of Caney Creek Road, where they continued their argument to a point where it became physical.

Both were arrested for public intoxication.
