TWO VICTIMS IN MASSIVE A-1 STORAGE HEIST
Last week on Wednesday, Deputy Ronald Fields received a signal 6 regarding a theft report. The caller said he was at his storage locker at A-1 Storage on Highway 127 South and found his lock had been cut off.
The night before, A-1 had called him and said that a customer came through and saw his Locke was cut off, he went to the locker that night but couldn’t see anything due to it being so dark.
The owner returned the next day and looked through the ransacked storage locker. He found he was missing a massive number of tools, hunting ammunition, and numerous other items.
The list of items stolen includes:
- A 52 inch 10 drawer rolling tool cabinet valued at $540.
- A half inch drive impact socket set including deep and short well sockets valued at 334.
- Several wrench sets valued at $220, $45, $25, $50, and $28.
- Eight tool bags with several wrenches, sockets, and an extensive collection of tool bags valued at $250.
- A $409 piece mechanical service set valued at $650.
- A socket set with wrenches valued at $105.
- A block plane, light metal body with black accents and handle valued at 169.
- A bench chisel set valued at 113;
- A cordless circular saw valued at $200.
- Valued at $90 and $130 respectively.
- A cordless sawzall reciprocating saw valued at $250.
- A low capacity 1.5ah battery valued at $144.
- A corded angle grinder valued at $140.
- A combination square wrench valid at $160.
- A set of three Japanese hand saws, lataba, ryoba, and dozuki style valued at $100.
- A wet dry vacuum valued at 167.
- A low angle Jack plane valued at 266.
- A 65 inch flat-screen LG TV valued at $530.
- A box of firearm ammunition of various calibers and gauges valued at $300.
- And several dozens of various other tools, whose value ranges anywhere from 15 to 90 dollars each.
Later that week, another man called Cumberland County deputies in regards to a theft at A1 storage at the same location on Highway 127.
The man claims the lock on his storage unit was also broken. This man listed a set of stolen items including TaylorMade golf clubs valued at $1,000; a GPS valued at around $150; a school style desk valued at approximately $100; and a stand-up fan valued at $30.
The owner said he doesn’t know when the unit was broken into or who the possible suspect could be. Currently no suspects have been identified and no charges have been filed.
