TWRA SAYS THIS PAST SUMMER HAS SEEN 16 DEATHS ON TENNESSEE WATERWAYS

It’s been a busy summer for activities on Tennessee waterways. It’s also been a deadly one with at least 16 people losing their lives. The latest was on Monday when a 71-year-old man died while boating on Norris Lake. His body was discovered Monday night after he dove in earlier that day and never resurfaced. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Officials say that the number is unusually high and that many accidents have happened on Douglas Lake. Agents are utilizing a new Remote Operated Vehicle that is an underwater sonar unit that has been used in recoveries. It’s the only such device in the state.
