The USDA says that Tyson Foods has recalled nearly 12 million pounds of frozen chicken strips due to possible metal contamination. The ready-to-eat strips were produced on various dates with “Use-By-Dates “ of Oct. 1, 2019, through March 7, 2020. The products that are subject to recall have an establishment number of “P-7221” on the back of the product packaging. At first, FSIS received two complaints by consumers of the extraneous material showing up in the chicken strip products. At this time, six complaints have been lodged with the group with three alleged injuries. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider. FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
