A U-Haul box truck driver was hurt following an accident starting at the 325 mile marker of I-40 in Cumberland County yesterday afternoon. Trooper Chris Bennett says 57-year-old Edward J. Matthews of Murfreesboro was traveling west when he ran off the roadway and went down an embankment. The truck struck a fence, crossed over Eroh Road and came to rest after going down a second embankment and struck a tree. Matthews was taken to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment. He was charged with failure to exercise due care.
