U.S. NAVY CONTINUES INVESTIGATING MONROE COUNTY JET CRASH

The U.S. Navy says that the same model aircraft which crashed near Tellico Plains Sunday was temporarily grounded earlier this year over concerns of the jet’s oxygen system. The T-45 Jet trainer crashed in the area of the Tellico hatchery killing its two occupants, a trainer and student, whose names have not been revealed. Concerns about the jet have been raised, and this past year two of the T-45’s from the same Meridian, MS. Naval base crashed. However neither crash was fatal. Back in March, questions were raised over the jet’s oxygen system possibly making pilots sick. The crash is still under investigation and it may be a long time before the exact cause is determined.
