The United States Postal Service says some of their rates will increase as of this Sunday January 21, 2018. Among the rate increases is the one ounce letter rate which will go from 49 cents per stamp to 50 cents. In addition, metered letters will increase from 46 cents to 47 cents to mail and domestic postcards will increase from 34 cents to 35 cents. The outbound International one ounce letter rate will not change and the price per additional ounce for letters will also stay at 21 cents. Rates are also set to increase for domestic Priority Mail Flat Rate with flat rate boxes and envelopes increases by 5 cents each. The postal service reminds citizens that they receive no tax dollars to operate and rely on the sale of postage and products to fund their service.
