UNEMPLOYMENT DECREASES SLIGHTLY IN AREA
Unemployment decreased slightly in many areas of Tennessee, according to figures released late yesterday by the state. Loudon and Pickett counties have the lowest rate in the listening area at 3.5 percent, followed by Anderson with 3.7, Overton with 3.9, Roane with 4 percent, McMinn at 4.1, Fentress with 4.2, Cumberland and Morgan at 4.3, Meigs at 4.5, Clay County at 4.7, Rhea at 5.7 and Bledsoe County at 5.8 percent. Bledsoe County tied with Houston County for the highest unemployment rate in the state.
