UNRESPONSIVE MALE WAKES UP AND FIGHTS CROSSVILLE OFFICER AND FIREFIGHTERS
On Wednesday, Crossville city units were dispatched to In and Out Tobacco Mart in reference to a possible unresponsive male laying inside the store. When an officer arrived, he observed the male to be laying on his left side on the floor.
After administering a sternum rub, the male woke up and began hitting the officer in the stomach and midsection multiple times. The officer attempted to place the subject’s hands behind his back when the subject tried to grab the officer’s legs. Two city firefighters then arrived on the scene and began attempting to assist the officer with getting the male’s hands behind his back. The male then began to strike the two men from City Fire.
The authorities were able to gain control of the subject and place him in custody. He was identified as Freddie Thompson, who was observed to have slurred speech and two alcoholic beverages in his belongings.
