UPDATE: IDENTITY OF MAN KILLED IN SWEETWATER FIRE RELEASED

We now know the identity of the man who died in the Sweetwater fire Saturday night. Investigators told 1057 News this afternoon the victim was 46-year-old Robert Shubert. Firefighters had responded to the blaze at 7 p.m. to find the roof engulfed in flames. After containing the fire, crews discovered the man’s body. No one else was home at the time of the blaze. The Tennessee Bomb and Arson Squad was called to the scene. Authorities believe Shubert intentionally set the fire. An investigation is continuing.
