With the latest news of TDOT preparing to begin on the widening of Highway 127 North from Crossville to Clarkrange, questions are coming up concerning the Northwest Connector Project. The project which began several years ago will trace a route going from Genesis Rd. to Highway 70 West and will include the widening of both Interstate and Northside Drives down to Highway 70 North. According to Crossville City Clerk Valerie Hale, the city is still acquiring property. Hale said that TDOT has set the bid-letting for the project for 2025 and that it will put in its 3-year-window once the acquisitions are completed, which should be in a few months. Plans for the 127 North construction include a 5-lane roadway from Interstate 40 to the Tabor Loop area and then becoming a 4-lane highway to just past Potato farm Road.
