UPDATE ON SEARCH FOR PLANE CRASH SITE NOW IN HINCH MOUNTAIN AREA OF CUMBERLAND CO.

(Noon central May 25, 2021 UPDATE) – Cumberland and Roane County first responders started searching for a plane that reportedly crashed this morning at 8 a.m. central. The FAA issued a notice shortly after it went off radar to public safety agencies and pilots alerting them about a missing Gulfstream American AA-5A four seater after departing the airport. It’s not clear how many people may have been aboard. A command post for first responders was set up at noon central today at a church in the Linary community of Cumberland County. A previous command post was established just outside of Oakdale but information late this morning indicated the pilot may have circled after leaving the airport taking him to the area of Hinch Mountain. More details will be released at a later time.
