VANLANDINGHAM ARRESTED FOR PUBLIC INTOXICATION
Early Saturday morning, Crossville police were asked to assist Cumberland County deputies with a call at room 104 of the Budget Inn. The complainant apparently let 30-year-old Ashley Nichole Vanlandingham use the bathroom and she passed out.
Officers arrived to find Vanlandingham passed out on the toilet. She appeared sluggish and only partially responsive to verbal and physical stimuli. She refused all medical treatment and kept falling asleep standing up while talking to medical personnel. She had to be asked questions multiple times before she would give an answer. When asked what narcotics she’d taken, she said she’d taken a Percocet, adding she didn’t have a prescription and didn’t normally take them. Vanlandingham told officers she was staying in room 105, but didn’t have a key. She then tried to make a phone call, but would either drop her phone or fall asleep seconds after putting the phone to her ear. A search of Vanlandingham’s purse turned up drug paraphernalia and a hotel key card for room 103. Police charged Vanlandingham with public intoxication.
