VEHICLE BURGLARY INVESTIGATION IN PUTNAM COUNTY
From the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office:
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a series of vehicle burglaries and a theft of a car reported on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in the Hulon Dyer Drive/Cedar Creek Circle and Big Orange Circle/Hawkins Crawford Road areas.
The suspects, believed to be small in stature, were seen driving a White SUV. They were masked, wearing goggles, hoodies, and gloves, and at least one appeared to be armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
The investigation, so far, reveals that only unlocked vehicles were targeted, while locked ones were bypassed. Sheriff Farris urges residents to lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activity immediately. Whether you are at home or in public, always lock your car doors. Never leave items of value in your vehicle.
Sheriff Farris stated, “I want to remind everyone that Tennessee Law gives you the right to protect yourself and your family and I encourage you to be prepared to do so.”
