A single vehicle crash is under investigation by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department. The report released today states deputies responded Sunday night to the 600 block of Tennessee Stone Road where a driver in a red Jeep Cherokee ran off the asphalt, struck a mailbox and two trees. A citizen living at the scene told authorities the only name he could get was “Jess” prior to the motorist fleeing the area. The airbags on the Jeep deployed on impact and the entire front of the automobile was destroyed.
