VEHICLE VS. FLATBED TRUCK RESULTS IN ONE INJURY ON HIGHWAY 70

A vehicle versus a flatbed truck accident in Cumberland County late this morning resulted in one injury. Troopers say a 2017 Ford driven by 77-year-old Theresa Hawkins of Crossville crossed the center line on Highway 70 North next to the race track and struck an oncoming 2004 Ford flatbed truck operated by 47-year-old Ronnie Davis of Monterey in the rear axle. The truck then rolled striking a ditch, a tree and two utility poles before coming to rest on its side. Davis and a passenger, 53-year-old Timothy Harris of Crossville escaped injury. Hawkins was taken to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of injuries. She was charged with failure to maintain her lane of travel. The accident resulted in power being knocked out in the area for a few hours.
