Veterans Day programs were held across the listening area today. In Roane County, several of the schools honored veterans with special recognitions. In Cumberland County, a program was held at the war memorial across from the old courthouse in Crossville.  A very large crowd of veterans and their families turned out to hear patriotic music selections from the Cumberland County Community Band. Sheriff Casey Cox, an Air Force veteran, served as master of ceremonies. Each branch of the military was recognized with the service song medley. Crossville Mayor James Mayberry delivered a proclamation for the event. The special guest speaker was Gus Gocella from Honor Air.
