Crossville Police were called to an Ivy Avenue residence Saturday for a report of a stolen debit card and checks. The victim stated that the checks were made out to 25-year-old Cody Stafford without her permission. A computer check revealed that Stafford had an outstanding warrant. Stafford was later taken into custody at the home and during a personal search, officers found the three checks, made out to Stafford, and the debit card. He was charged with theft of property and forgery.
