Late Wednesday night, Cumberland County deputies were called to a home on the 700 block of Timothy Drive for a report of a break-in and assault with a weapon. The homeowner’s son and the son’s girlfriend told authorities a local man had unlawfully entered the home, went to the homeowner’s bedroom and grabbed him around the neck, while brandishing a black and orange pocket knife in a threatening manner. The son was able to disarm the assailant and push him out of the home. Deputies have obtained a written warrant for aggravated burglary and aggravated assault.
