WARTBURG POLICE SEIZE 19.2 GRAMS OF METHAMPHETAMINE DURING TRAFFIC STOP
On February 20, 2026, Officer Sarah Posey of the Wartburg Police Department initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation. With assistance from Chief Mike Rader, a subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered 19.2 grams of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, along with hypodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia.
Due to the quantity and packaging of the substance, the individual faced charges including manufacture, delivery, sale, or possession of methamphetamine, as well as driving while in possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
The Wartburg Police Department highlighted this incident as an example of their officers’ proactive efforts and ongoing commitment to removing dangerous drugs from the community’s streets.
