WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGE TAKES OUT SERVICE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
About 6:15 p.m. this evening, power suddenly went out in large swaths of Cumberland County.
According to Volunteer Energy Cooperative outage maps, fully half of the customers across Cumberland County were affected. Callers to 1057 News reported outages in Bledsoe and Meigs counties, as well.
Along Main Street, Crossville police directed traffic at some major intersections. At others, the lights were simply dark. But a block away, West Avenue was unaffected by the outage.
By 6:55 p.m., almost as suddenly as it went out, power was restored to most customers.
As of 7:02 p.m. CDT, there were six customers without power in Cumberland County and one without power in Bledsoe County.
