WILL ANOTHER ONE BITE THE DUST? CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSES CITY MANAGER
Will another one bite the dust? Once again, the Crossville City Council has an item on tonight’s agenda concerning the firing of a City Manager. Two such items were on the Council’s agenda earlier this year when an attempt was made to remove then City Manger David Rutherford. The first effort failed, but a month later a second attempt was successful and Rutherford was gone. The current interim city manager, retired Crossville Parks and Recreation Director Steve Hill has held the position since April.
Now acting City Manager Steve Hill is in the cross hairs of Council Member Pete Souza. Souza states in his request to remove Hill “That it is time to reassess the situation and move forward in a positive direction until a new Council is seated in December…
The item to remove Mr. Hill is one of the last items on tonight’s meeting agenda which begins at 6 pm at Crossville City Hall. Below is the list of City other City meetings today:
Thursday, October 13 – 5:00 p.m. – Audit Committee
5:30 p.m. – Closed Executive Session on litigation
5:45 p.m. – Beer Board
6:00 p.m. – City Council
