WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY EXTENDED FOR CUMBERLAND PLATEAU

As of noon central, the National Weather Service has extended the WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for the Cumberland Plateau until 6 p.m. central tonight (Sunday, February 14, 2021. This now runs the advisory up to the time the WINTER STORM WARNING takes effect. The storm warning is from 6 p.m. tonight (Sunday, February 14, 2021) and is scheduled to expire at 6 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Both the advisory and warning includes the Tennessee counties of: CUMBERLAND, MORGAN, SCOTT, FENTRESS, PICKETT, OVERTON, PUTNAM, WHITE, VAN BUREN

BLESDOE COUNTY is under a winter weather advisory only at this time.

IN KENTUCKY, the winter storm warning includes Clinton, Cumberland and Wayne.

Motorists should use extreme caution driving during the advisory because of black ice conditions in several roadways on the plateau. Travel is not recommended during the winter storm warning.
