WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY TRYING TO STEAL CAR

Crossville police responded to Woodmere Mall Saturday night (October 28, 2017) to a report of a female trying to steal a vehicle. An employee of a restaurant walked outside to warm his 2002 Chevy Malibu up and later came back to find 30-year-old Destiny Johnie Phipps of Crossville in the driver’s seat of his vehicle pulling away and trying to leave the area. The victim jumped in front of his vehicle and Phipps stopped. Phipps then reportedly fled on foot but was caught at the Woodmere Exxon. Phipps was arrested and charged with theft of property.
