WOMAN ARRESTED FOR PUBLIC INTOXICATION AT LOCAL LAUNDROMAT

Just before noon on Saturday, Crossville police were called to the Wash N Dry on North Main Street for a report of a woman inside the business possibly on drugs.

Police found 39-year-old Ruth Irwin Dagnino sitting by the soda machines inside the laundromat. According to the report, she told them she was “worried about someone throwing urine on her.”

Dagnino, who persistently picked at her skin and her face, admitted having used meth the night before. She was unable to keep still and here movements were exaggerated. A consent search of her backpack turned up a syringe.

Dagnino was not charged for the drug paraphernalia, which was properly disposed of; but she was arrested for public intoxication, for her safety and that of the public.
