WOMAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO CHILD ON BICYCLE HIT BY VEHICLE IN CROSSVILLE

Crossville police arrested a woman yesterday in connection to a May 21, 2020 incident where a child on a bicycle was hit by a vehicle on Old Lantana Road. Officers say the mother of the 10-year-old (age corrected from initial report released) was sitting outside when a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Natasha Reshone Aguilar Komolafe of Crossville reportedly struck the boy as he attempted to cross the street. The incident report states Aguilar allegedly stopped, told the mother “if she needed to talk to her, I live up the road at the trailer park” and left the scene. The child was taken to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of injuries to his foot.

A few days later, Crossville-Cumberland County Crimestoppers received a tip that a silver car pulled into a residence on the 800 block of Prentice Street and an individual covered the vehicle with a tarp. Police inspected the automobile and observed bicycle tire markings on the front passenger side bumper consistent to the bike hit. Officers then spoke to Aguilar Komolafe who allegedly said she hit the child but thought he was okay when she left. A check of her license revealed a suspended status. She was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries and was cited for driving without insurance.

Aguilar Komolafe was booked into the Cumberland County jail and her bond was initially set at $2,500.
