WOMAN CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED DOMESTIC ASSAULT AFTER STABBING INCIDENT

Crossville Police responded to the report of a stabbing at a Park St. home on June 21. When they arrived, officers found Dustin France in the driveway bleeding from a knife wound on his left bicep. He stated that he had encountered Brianna Medley sitting on a step where she had allegedly cut herself with a paring knife. France said he took the knife from her, took it to the kitchen and then went to his bedroom, where Medley later reportedly returned to a closet and retrieved a hammer. France said that the woman came at him in a threatening manner and that he took the hammer. He then said that Medley got the knife from the kitchen sink and that when he tried to take the knife away from her again, he was cut on the finger and arm. He then called 911. Medley also had an injury to her left arm and hand. She told officers that she used the knife in self-defense. After viewing all the evidence and taking statements, it was determined that Medley was the primary aggressor. She was charged with aggravated domestic assault.
