Authorities in Blount County charged a woman after human remains was found on her property. Deputies say 47-year-old Karen Walker Headrick of Butterfly Gap Loop in Maryville is charged with criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse. She will appear for arraignment in Blount County General Sessions Court June 12, 2017. Officers say the Knox County Regional Forensics Center will release the identity of the deceased at the appropriate time. Authorities say 69-year-old Mary Ruth Walker was reported missing in early May from her home on Butterfly Gap Loop Road. It is still not yet known if Headrick’s case is connected to Walker’s disappearance.
