WOMAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE COUNTS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY

A woman wanted on 19 warrants of aggravated cruelty to animals turned herself in to Blount County authorities yesterday afternoon. Officers went to the residence of 43-year-old Amy Renea Robertson of Maryville to do a welfare check and made a shocking discovery. Deputies made entry into Robertson’s mobile home and found multiple animals deceased in cages, as well as multiple animals running around the house. Deputies found six deceased dogs and three deceased cats. The animals rescued from the home were taken to the Blount County animal center.
