WOMAN CHARGED WITH VEHICULAR HOMICIDE TESTED POSITIVE FOR DRUGS

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol records, a woman indicted for a vehicular homicide in Roane County tested positive for drugs. In June, Crystal D. Rogers was indicted in the case involving the death of 25-year-old Laura Carmley, who was killed in a wreck on Oct. 9, 2016. The THP says that the 2004 Chevy Impala that Rogers was driving crossed the center line while traveling on Dry Fork Valley Rd. The vehicle sideswiped a 1999 Chevy Tahoe. The Impala struck an embankment and then rolled. Carmley, who was riding with Rogers, died from her injuries. The report said that Rogers was given a blood test afterwards that came back positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine. Rogers is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 17.
