WOMAN CHARGED WITH VEHICULAR HOMICIDE

A Putnam County woman is now charged with vehicular homicide after an accident yesterday off of Dodson Branch Road. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 29-year-old Nicole Leah Wright is also charged with driving under the influence and three counts of reckless endangerment following the accident that resulted in the death of 26-year-old Mason Taft of Cookeville. Authorities said Wright was traveling on an access road off of Dodson Branch Road when her 2004 Honda Accord left the road and rolled over. Taft was partially ejected and crushed by the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers say three other passengers inside the car were not injured and received citations for public intoxication.
