WOMAN DETAINED WHILE WAITING FOR DEALERSHIP OWNER TO GIVE HER A CAR

Thursday morning, Cumberland County deputies were called to a local auto dealership for a suspicious woman. They found 41-year-old Carrie Renee Durbin of Crossville sitting on the front steps of the business, saying she was waiting on the owner to give her a car.

Deputies noticed Durbin had slightly slurred speech and seemed to have difficulty understanding the questions posed to her. The arrest report states when deputies asked Durbin a question, “she would look at the sky and talk to herself before presenting an answer.”

Deputies reported Durbin “stated that she was tired of walking and being followed by the anti-Christ.”

When they tried to relocate her to a safe location, she refused and was said to have insisted they take her to jail.

Determining Durbin was under the influence of an intoxicant, deputies detained her for her own safety and that of the public. She’s due in court June 3.
